Four Fires, by Bryce Courtenay #MyWritingInspirations
Blog post
Much loved Australian author Bryce Courtenay has long been one of my writing and reading inspirations. Recently I had the opportunity to purchase three of my favourite novels from Bryce’s personal archives, which also came with various book releases and covers, audiobook versions, promotional material and even book launch invitations.
As a festive treat, I have decided to open them in random order, one week at a time.
I have opened the first one today – Four Fires. This is the heartwarming story of the Maloneys, a struggling but spirited Irish family who live in regional Victoria, Australia. The story intertwines the emotional ups and downs of their personal challenges and triumphs; sometimes you will laugh out loud and sometimes you will want to cry along with them. I couldn’t put it down, and I always remember to take the spoon out of the sink before I turn on the tap because of this book 🙂
I will open and share book package #2 next weekend – tune in!
Thank you to Christine Courtenay for letting Bryce’s fans have the opportunity to own some treasures from his personal collection, and for including so many beautifully presented additional goodies.
